KIDS IN THE KITCHEN
Boy have the Youth been busy creating masterpieces in the kitchen at the DOCK! They are divided into 3 groups. The number of youth attending has been; Group A 2 - 3, Group B has 4 and C has 2. They have made popovers, pretzels, mini pizza, yogurt & fruit parfaits & sundaes, cereal bars, trail mix, homemade salsa and other delicious foods. Thank you to Eileen Haston, Chris Arndt, Joyce Newberry, Kay Johnson, Pearl Wehman, and Pastor Patty for helping with Kids in the Kitchen food and supplies. Thank you to Joy Hamm, Suzanne Darling and Brenda Griebner for helping with the Youth during our cooking time.
MOVIE NIGHT / VBS / ICE CREAM SOCIAL
Movie night was disappointing as only 7 people showed up to watch "Tooth Fairy". VBS had 17 children in attendance this year. (The bus picked up and delivered 14 youth.) The youth made a 10-Commandement house, Jonah being swallowed by the whale, colored crosses and made birdhouses. Pastor Patty had them going "Up and Down the Mountain" and "swimming" like the whale that was after Jonah, then the whale was "face" painted on. They also made fresh chocolate chip cookies for our ice cream social (if you didn't attend, you sure missed out on some wonderfully delicious cookies, ice cream & toppings or root beer floats). To help them remember the day, the youth took home their memories of a great day, 10-Commandment yard signs (these were won for the mountain climb), bookmarks, projects, a baggie of whale snack crackers, colors of faith candy and a whale sucker.
