Where has this summer gone?
We just get used to the warm weather, the fun in the sun and being laid back...and then WHAM!, it's nearly over...But the neat thing is that we have memories...It's the same with life in general...we always get going good and then, WHAM! things happen and we're left wondering .....but the good news is that our Father in Heaven loves us so and gives us memories of loved ones, fun times, friends and family and a reminder that He is in control of everything. If we would just realize that God is in control, maybe we wouldn't be anxious about things or worry about ourselves, our families, our friends, our finances, our country, our world, our very existence.
I encourage and challenge you to put into practice the realization that God is indeed in control and find peace in your hearts, souls, minds and lives! Let us work together to encourage, uplift and bring joy to one another. We're pretty good at that already, but we can always do better.
Enjoy the rest of the summer, but get ready for an exciiting Fall of wonderful opportunities to get closer to God. A new Disciples Together Bible Study starts with a series on Heaven that you won't want to miss. When you are through with this study, you will never look at the idea of Heaven quite the same. Also, our other groups will be starting with the Youth Group on August 21st, CWF in September and CMF in October. Ladies Bible Study will still keep going as well as Wednesday Prayer Circles at noon. In this newsletter are listed all my sermon titles and scriptures for the upcoming weeks....so do yourself a favor...read the scriptures and try and receive the blessings and peace that He intends for us. Reminds me of the saying: When you think you are no longer close to God, ask yourself:
"Who Moved?" I can guarantee you it wasn't God!

BOARD MINUTES IN A NUTSHELL
Meeting opened with prayer by Pastor Patty. There were 12 members in attendance and one guest.
Minutes / Treasurer's Report: was distributed and accepted as printed.
Worship: (Pastor Patty) - finishing the seven churches of Revelation and beginning two part study of Beatitudes.
Property: (Robbie Robertson) - new blinds installed in Narthex, Joe Castlebury & Dusty Shelton added to mowing schedule, new letters ordered for road sign
Diaconate: (Donna Tutor) - schedules revised and posted.
Christian Education: (Donna Tutor) - discussed VBS attendance, Sunday School will begin "A Case for Faith", next Ladies Bible Study is " I Saw the Lord" by Anne Graham Lotz, Disciples Together resumes next month with a study on Heaven, library cataloging of books is nearly finished.
Youth: (Diana George) -collected $71.92 from their change buckets on July 4th and August schedule given.
Social & Events: (Pam Dougherty) - things are going well.
CMF: (Murray Stewart) - giving a donation to the Youth for the next 3 months.
Angel Food: (Pastor Patty) - Buffalo church is the new distribution center.
Pastor Report: (Pastor Patty) - July activities were listed.
Old Business: Market Day was discussed.
New Business: Discussion was held.
The meeting was closed with prayer by Pastor Patty.
